Personalising a funeral service

There are a number of different things people can do to make a loved ones service more personalised and meaningful. Listed below are just a few ideas that have been very successful in the past, when incorporated at an appropriate time during the service:
  • Releasing balloons at the end of the Service
  • Use of photos - These can be presented in a number of ways, for example as part of a projected "slide show" or on a photo board
  • Video or Audio tapes of the Service for friends and family who are unable to attend the Service (very good for family members overseas).
  • Lighting of candles
  • Placing of flowerheads on the casket as part of a very private tribute and final goodbye.
  • Having personal items on the casket - such as a builders apron, war medals, or photographs
  • Having flowers that reflect a persons life - instead of flowers, why not use vegetables if the person was a keen gardener, or sea shells and driftwood if they liked the beach
  • Choose music that reflects the persons preferences
  • Invite people to speak about different aspects of their life
  • Have a photo slideshow played before or during the service
You can personalize every part of the service - from the casket we can have specially painted, the individualized service sheets and photo slide shows, your choice of five hearses, two chapels, and our own Crematorium. When you choose W. Abraham Ltd, you’re choosing the freedom to create a service that is a individual as your loved one.
